What do you think of this interchange?  If you have any ideas of how to simplify this I would appreciate it.  Thanks again everyone!

That is... interesting. It works and doesn't even look too bad. Slope mod would help to get the looks even better, but that's nice as well. I've always liked the ability to drag one-ways from avenues like that, too. They make great interchanges. Unfortunately though, a design like that takes up a lot of space, so I can only really see it useful in lower-density areas. But there it's nice. 5.gif

Oh, BTW, that multi-highway setup of yours (the other thread) is definitely an overkill.

Quite good, it would look even better if you could make it semetrical althougth this isen't really inportant and could end up taking even more space.

in your last thread Is this overkill, we commented that you had way too many lights. on the top of the first pic, I see around 5 or 6 lights at one exit..11.gif

One thing that can make it better: IRL you almost always have the offramp before the onramp. This is because they want to keep the two ramps as far away from eachother as possible. So the ramp on the top/right sida of the avenue in your first pic would then be backwards if you know what I mean. Just my two cents 1.gif

You may think about combining the two oneways into one road. Depending on the traffic density and the length of the ramps this is a legitime way of reduce costs for building and maintaining. And I agree with pjot that the offramp should be before the on-ramp. Not onlz to keep them apart but also to keep drıvers from using the onramp as an offramp ...

You really like those lights, don't you? Well, it looks alright, but I'll agree with Zeddic - a slope mod would help.

Exactly! This is to avoid an effect called weaving, where cars entering the highway must cross over the path of those intending to exit it. It can create accidents, particularly in situations with medium traffic (light traffic and there's usually nobody there to get in your way, heavy traffic and it's moving slowly and is just a matter of someone letting you in). This is why many people don't like cloverleafs.

Yup... Anyway, I made my own version of a similar interchange. It's here. As I said, those take up huge amounts of land, so I'd prefer a more minimalistic approach. Usually when I use avenues as highways myself, I just use NAM's overpasses to get over the ave and then drag street or road to one side of the avenue. It works perfectly well and is much smaller.
