Possible: Both yes and no!

No you cannot make 1025x1025 become 1/4 of 4097x4097. That's against every geometric rule there is. To fill up a 4097x4097 area you need 16 1025x1025 pieces. See image below:

Yes it is however possible to render the downloaded map on just some parts of a region, but you'd have to make that region 2049x2049 if you want this map to be 1/4 of it. You must take the jpg from the original map and in a image editing program add gray next to it like this:

ruta21qo.jpg

The red is the downloaded map and the blue is the added gray, depending on the height you want you can choose the light/darkness of the gray. You must then edit the config.bmp to match the new size. The image above is valid for this aswell where the red is tha config.bmp you've downloaded and the blue is what you must add. You must save the jpg as 8 bit or else the game won't render it.

Hope this helps you!

thanks, and i came up with a really cool way to make a region that has sevral downloaded cities. All you do is download a bunch of maps and add up all of the numbers left of the x and then the right, then you that is the size of your region, now you use paint or any photoshop and put all the maps into one, then it will take a really long time to configure the config.bmp.mine is 11573x11509!

No you can't just add the numbers. If you have a jpg-file that's 1025x1025 that renders as a 1024x1024 map. The jpg file is always 1 pixel larger than the map it'll render. so if you want to render four 1025x1025 maps in a bigger square it'll have to be 1024+1024+1x1024+1024+1=2049x2049. If you intend to take many maps from the STEX and render them at once you'll need to crop the images of one pixel in height and width, then put them next to eachother, add one pixel to the height and one to the width and then render 1.gif

However a region at 11000x11000 is not very easy to render 23.gif23.gif23.gif it'll take forever to render it. I'm not going to stop you from doing so I'm just warning you.

    Good luck!
