Subway - Elevated Rail

Hello, sorry if this has been discussed but I didn't see it anywhere.  I am working on a city and started to make an elevated rail for part of the downtown.  However, I ran into some issues and realized that I couldn't complete the track the way I wanted to without demolishing buildings/highways so after halfway into the track, I put in a subway-el train connector and then finished the track underground, then put another connector to come back above ground so the track was connected from start to finish.

I thought that it might work but it appears that doing so doesn't count as a completed track, since there are no trains/subway cars and no one uses it.  Is there something I can do or do I have to have a fully completed El-train track as well as a fully completed Subway track to get it to connect the two together?

First, walk the tracks and make sure it is all connected. Sometimes putting down a station on the EL disconnects the track.

Next, remember there is no parking at the EL or subway stations. You can either lay down parking buildings or bus lines to connect to the EL/Subway. Sims will only walk 8 grid squares total to get to work. That's 8 total counting both ends. You will need a distribution set up, probably buses, at the job end if it ends in the industrial area.

Edit: Be sure your graphics settings are high enough to see the trains.

Make sure your subway tunnel goes up to the lot but not under it. If you do that, the tunnel will go right under the connection as opposed to connecting to it.

Thanks, not sure what happened but it works now.  I went over the track again and also I may have had one of the sub/el on backwards.
