think of it, a 4 to 9 lane freeway where you can designate which lanes cary traffic based on demand.

A good idea, but I doubt it would be possible to do... SC4's way of showing times is a very strange one, indeed. It would have to be entirely based on general traffic volume in that area. And if so, better if you just drag an extra stretch one-way road or RHW () and change the direction manually.
So, in conclusion, I'd say That's what we need, but it's impossible to make properly.

Good idea, but as already mentioned, I doubt that it would technically be possible.

I say just combine 2 regular SimCity Highways and fuse them into a Freeway with 6 lanes going both directions instead of 3.  It would require 4 tiles wide, but I think it would be worth it.

I live in Los Angeles County, so its pretty common to have 6 lanes.

this would be an awesome thing to have get into the game... though with the intelligence of modding we have today and the amount of people we have this would be extremely hard if not impossible to do...
