Also, Number Six, was er a 'fracking' messing with Baltar's mind again, probably to keep us from taking the Cylons for granted in future episodes; but that plot devise is starting to get old.

At least she's easier on the eyes than a tin can.  I guess if I were going crazy I could think of worse delusions than that. 3.gif

Question though...did Baltar have a real relationship with her prior to the Cylon attack on the colonies?  I didn't see much of the first season.

And on a different note, I saw an advertisement for a new Night Stalker series.  I hope its as good as the original...I thought that show was great.

Amen brother.  For the first time, I suspect that The Magistrate (my wife) is somewhat jealous!9.gif  She muttered something about disconnecting Sci-Fi channel when Six and Baltar were together!17.gif

Just like BSG, she liked the original series in the '70's.  (she's into everything fr that decade)  This Carl Kolchak looks more younger; I bet I don't go off the deep end if the actor draws her and glues to the tube!18.gif   Come to think it, there a lot of sexy people on the New BSG all the way around. I am surprised she doesn't watch with me.  Nope! She's watches repeats of The FBI on The Hallmark Channel;  I think she has a secret crush on Efrem Zimbalist Jr. 31.gif

Anyway, getting back on subject, during the first season when Baltar and Six had a lover's spat she got revenge by turning real to everyone else and turning him as a traitor.  This time she gets revenge by telling him that she is a figment of his warped and guilty imagination after all.  Duh!!!  The first time it really brought both of them out as major characters in the show; this time it made them look as if the writers were looking for ways to give the actors more lines.  But I'm nitpicking over otherwise excellent writing that has been able to build suspense and tell a story.

I love Battlestar Gallactica. Its a shame season 1 has ended in Australia. But Season 1 just came out on DVD in Aussie, I already own the miniseries! Its Awsome! Oh and did you know the next season will have 22 eppisodes instead of the 13 in season 1, How fantastic is that!?

lol...that scene certainly got my attention too.  Fortunately I don't have a half-unit floating around so its a lot easier on me.

Thanks for the info...I'm definitely going to try and watch the first season on DVD so I can get some of the background filled in.

Well they found the way to earth.

Now we are back to the intriuge of the Ship and the political situation.
When will the Prez actulay die? She found the way to earth and fulfilled the prophesy in the holy book, baltar as prez qould not make any sence except as a plot twist and it looks as though the terrorist is having 2nd thoughts about his life choice especily since  boomer killed his partner.

That would have made too much sense and took out a lot of the intrigue out of the show in so doing.  I think it was another ploy by her (and the series' writers) to mess with his head.

Yeah I would hope that Zarrick would realize that politics doesn't mean anything if everybody is dead.

The other question was whether this Boomer is a good Cylon.  I suspect that she spared the party only so that everyone, Human and Cylon alike, could get to Earth.

I can never remember his name 42.gif

That will be interesting the 1/2 breed     1/2 cyclon child would be a savior of both races?

I still think there are mechanical self ware cylons playing in the shadows somewere, and they human types are trying to get away from them. and are tryin gto enlist the real
human in thier long term plans.

This show could have quite a run.

What about Billy for President?  I know he's young and inexperienced, but Roslin has already mentioned that she thinks he'll be president someday.  Maybe she has something working in the background that may come to light later and put him a position to assume the Presidency.

You've hit on an interesting possibility EB...maybe this Boomer is part of an underground working within the Cyclons.  This would also match up with what Joe said regarding Boomer being a good Cyclon.  It seems obvious (to me anyway) that the tin cans really don't have any need for the human versions other than to infiltrate the humans and wreak havoc.  The mechanical versions seem to be superior in about everyway that I've seen.   So...this underground faction believes the only way to insure the Cyhums survival is to locate Earth together.  A problem I do see with that though, is why don't they just tell the humans that they want to help and become double agents of sorts?  Possibly because they don't know who the other Cyhums are in the fleet and don't want to risk their exposure to a non-resistance Cyclon?

Billy would definitely be a good balance to Baltar and Zarrick.

I'm still skeptical about the Cyhums.  I think they probably think they are superior to both the tins and the humans & may try to outlast them both.  The Boomer linked with Helo is the only one that we know of that's helped and not somehow attempted to sabotage or assassinate the humans.

    Watched it last night.

Never suspected her, just thought she was a  typical  Left wing media nut. ( no offence to  any left wing media nuts 9.gif )

But now im confused about something, Beside the obvious point to try to get them all back on the same track by making them come together  and all embrace the refugee  mentality( which sorta playes into my theory about the human type cyclons wanting to use the humans to get them away from the mechanical cylons)

It seems the human type cylons used the  news story thing  as a means to check that the baby was born , which  sorta makes Baltars Bimbo a figment of his imagination other wise they could have used Balter to check  on the progress, which also means that  preggers boomer has  really rebelled and broken off contact with her cohorts or SHE woulh have been in contact.

I'm becoming more convinced that there are at least two factions within the Cylons (Cyhums and mechs).  It's apparent that there is some type of contact between the Cyhums in the fleet and their copies.  If they can communicate freely then why don't they just give the location of the fleet so that the Cylons can attack?  To me, that leads to two possibilities:

    1) the Cyhums are not giving the mechs the location of the fleet for whatever reason

    2) the Cylons want the fleet to find Earth so that they can destroy the humans there also.  But if that were the case, why bother with doing anything in the fleet?  Just lay low and don't interfere until Earth is found.  Not having seen much of the first season, I guess I should ask if the Cyhums in the fleet have committed any other overt acts other than the assassination attempt on Adama?  If it was the only time they took any action, then Boomer trying to kill Adama would still be consistent with this point because he wasn't too thrilled (to say the least) about the President's desire to go back to Athena's Tomb on Kobol.

They are really good with their surprise endings.

Your theory about the human cylons is starting to confuse me a bit EB.  But don't try to reexplain it; I definitely don't have anything better.  I am beginning to wonder after all this time if Baltar was a Cylon himself as a way to explain Six in his head; but if he was, the reporter didn't seem to let on.

I found the use of the music from the original series (for the first time?) in the news video about the fleet very poignant.  After it touched me, that scene then made a good contrast to the tone of fear and  paranoia of the current series when we then saw the real final ending of the episode.

But back to the ending:  Something that's now nagging me: after Baltar became Vice President, did the fleet stop checking for Cylons?  And why would that not been thought of by the higher ups when the news crew came aboard?

Lucy Lawless, btw, is still looking good.

I noticed the music too very nice touch and i also like the way the went back and forth from camera view  screen to normal view.

if you remember the reporter never finished the interview with him. he may be a cylon but dosnt know. Assassin boomer ( the one who shot adama) told him who the other cylons were.  if he was a cylon the scan woulnd not have shown anything since i think th e cyhums are pretty much biological clones of selected people from the colonies. but they have now rebelled.

Kinda my theory. It makes sense that the cyhum are rebeling against the mechs other wise they would have followed the clues in the book ,after they destroy the fleet ,and find  earth by them selves.
religious belife seems to be   what the cyhums were givin by the mechs mabey emotions as well.
or mabey they found it them selves and is what they are using to seprate themselves from the mechs. the cyhums seem to have a single minded  grasp of  religion  or a huge grasp of a single religion. very very fanaticalishly.

Nice episode. Every one going stir crazy, Building the Blackbird.
Chief throwing a wrench in the works of the Cylon  romance.

However next week is the season 2 Final.
They are redoing about the only original episode that wasnt totaly cheesy.
The Pegasus and Kane return, I expect this to be a cliffhanger.

Woder how long before season 3. hope they dont go Sappranos on us.

Yeah, they do keep trying to remind us their characters indeed are human, which sure beats a lot of Hollywood.19.gif  I expect special effects & eye candy but I'll take realism and good character development over them in my science fiction any day.

So how does a good Sharon fit into the Cyhum theory? Why does she seem to be protecting the fleet?  Also, if I'm not mistaken, was this the first time that we did not see Six talk to Baltar?

Frankly I am frustrated with the Sci Fi Channel calling 10 episodes a season.  I think other cable channels do the same too. 47.gif

If only the third season would start in 10 weeks, but somehow I don't think that's going to happen. 28.gif

Maybe the good Sharon has developed some sort of maternal instinct and just wants her baby to survive.  Until last week the Cyhums weren't even sure if she was still alive.  Could the news story have just been an attempt to find out if she was or not (and also gather military intelligence)?  Whether intentional or not, she hasn't been communicating with the rest of the Cyhums.  Even so, her actions would still be consistent with the Cyhum/mech factions theory since it was the mechs that were actually attacking the fleet.

No matter what I'm sure my jaw will hit the floor next Friday around 10:55 PM. 25.gif

    Season 2 is Done. 8.gif

And  only 3 months for season 3 to start in January. 29.gif44.gif

    Nice Cliff hanger too
The attack on the Pegasus is on its way.
Chief and Hilo seemed to have resolved thier differences.
No sign of what happen to the baby.
And Baltar will have a physical version of his figment now. ( im assuming he gets her off the Pegasus during the confusion in the attack.)

Personaly i think Kane and Adama have some personal skeleton she just cant let go of.41.gif

Im hopeing that the mystery cyclon ship contains the mechanical cylons.

The season ender actually made the Cylons appear somewhat sympathetic.

Kaine definitely has issues, unless that's how the show wants to make the Colonial Forces appear like.   Michelle Forbes looks even better here than during her ST Next Generation Days. 29.gif This show is slowly starting to become The Love Boat for past sci-fi/ fantasy actors.

I wonder how long there will be two BattleStars in the mix.  If were the original series, I'd say one more episode, but given the soap opera nature of this one we could still see them for awhile.

You're pretty patient, EB.   I guess it would do no good for me to continue to rant in this space about having to wait for months for just 10 episodes at a time huh.47.gif

I thought I recognized her from some other show, but couldn't put my finger on it....thanks!  Not that this is true in this particular situation, but it seems as I get older my perception of what looks good and what doesn't has changed somewhat.  I'll make a comment about how attractive I think some woman is and the 20 somethings I go to school with all look at me like I'm nuts.  Hopefully, that perception is true from a woman's point of view too or I'm going to be single (again) for a while. 18.gif

EB...you mentioned that the Pegasus was in the original BSG also.  Is the storyline similar?

Yes it was a two part episode.
Kane was a guy how ever and a good friend of the lorne green Adama.
Ends up Kane sacrafices The Pegasus VS 2 Base ships to allow the galactica to go free, but with the Pegsaus fighters in her bays.

there may be a similar ending here with the mystery cylonship. since a few dozen vipers would help galactica out a whole lot.

At your advice I saw Serenity last night EB; and I've only watched a couple movies all year long.  For that matter, I've only seen one episode of Firefly.   I anticipated lots of action, violence, and adventure which it had lots of.  It was fast-paced and never bored me. The movie was more darker and gruesome than I expected though.  The acting was so-so, but that's not what I go to that type of movie for and  the chemistry between the characters was great.

It hasn't done well in the box office, so I'd be surprised if there were sequels.  But it does make me wish I had seen the original series and that it had a longer run.

But it does make me wish I had seen the original series and that it had a longer run.

its made 22 million in 3 weeks, not a good showing at all but, science fiction ( except Starwars) never does well. i was hoping it would do much better then that  especialy since this time of year  there are not a whole lot of movies that come out. ( im supprized Corpse Bride isnt doing well either, but it may just suck). But even so if he will make more Serinity Movies but they will probably be thru Scifie channel.

They a re still showing the series on Scifie at 6PM central time. or The DVDs are out as well.
