Unable to load game data

i need help i installed sim city 4 deluxe with no problems but when i click to play the game it sayes Unable to fine game data. Could be an installation problem or operationg system problem. So then i go to my SC4 folder where i installed it and all the data is there and a new file called FAMILYCOMPT-config-log.txt it wasnt there before and in it it says:

Welcome to our community.

Well, that's a new one. I just checked and I don't have such a log file on my machine.

What operating system are you running? With what updates?
What is the configuration of your machine?

This log looks like it might have been installed by some kind of networking monitor. Are you on a network? If wo, which one?

If you need guidance with this, please see the bug reporting sticky thread at the top of this section.

EDIT: Going over your post again, I notice you have an integrated video GEForce4 system and it appears to have only 256MB memory. Is this correct?

im also using a no cd crack just in case thats useful and when i use the cd it says the same thing anyway. Well heres some basic info on my computer:

Any no CD crack I have heard about doesn't allow the updates to take effect. Does the game run when you run it as prescribed by EA?

if it was made bad it won't work. you have an error log made by sc4 it also states that the .exe is bad. so i would just replace it with the origonal.

 

When you put the cd in did you remove the cracked .exe and replace it with the origonal?

Put the origonal back in and see if it runs correctly. If so then the crack is bad. But i must agree with N_O_Body and that such topics are not allowed on this board because it is against company policy.

 

How did you try and remove sc4? did you go through Add and Remove Programs? or sopmething else?

Well...at least I just wanted to pose the same problem.

I have done some deinsatalaions on my computer, and after that it started out doing bad things like crashing, or taking houres to get started. The computer got to a workshop and is repaired now.

 

I was running an ould version of windowsXP so I feld free ordering the brand new version. It was preinstalled when I got the computer back.

 

I`ve insalled SimCity4 and RushHour...

 

...and the problem began.

 

SimCity itself allowes to start the region but not the cities,

RushHour, when installed, even not gets the region started.

 

Before the computer got repaired and updated the game worked, the freshest versin of WindowsXP fails.

 

What`s the problem?

Did you do the following:

1. Install SC4 - No patches
2. Install RH
3. Intall update 1 for your region

If so, everything should be cool.

What version of XP have you got? Does it have Service Pack 2?

I did not have ServicePac2 before, I just took a look, I still haven't got it now.

I never had such a problem before, and never noticed the file shown up above. Now, I've found it and it seems to be exacly the same on my computer. I do not have the skill to understand it at all.

 

I'll check whether the ServicePac brings any advance and come back.

Well, I made it. My hardware wasn't allready finished to be installed completly.

I had no sound, and that has broken the game. Isn't it silly?
