green rail cars

hi i have stock simcity4 deluxe iv never used
the railways befor but recently have now my problem
is ill have 2 stations eather passenger or freight
and will only have thes little green cars running the rails
no freight train no passenger trains is this a bug?
if not how do i get full trains to run the rails?
still kinda new to this game too so sorry for any newb questions.

  Its not a bug the little green train car is the track mantaince car.

  it usaly takes some use of the trains befor you see the trains .If you have say 3 stations at over 400 then you will start seeing trains and as the use goes up so do the amount of trains u see.

Simply play a little bit more, and biuld up your region population.  As you create more commuters and more destinations near train stations for these sims to work, you will see more trains.

 

For industrial trains, just biuld up more industry along train tracks, throw in some freight stations for industry away from rails and nieghbor connections, and you will see more frieght trains.

 

In my neck of the woods, those little green carts are pick-up trucks with rail sensing equipment.  (Wouldn't want to be in one of those dinky things when an Amtrak Accela flies by.)
