Ok, firstly, i hate people coming into forums and asking questions without looking for the answers.

I've spend the last two hours looking for my answers, and can't find them, please help....

Ok, firstly, how the hell do you edit a region. I create a new one, flat green fields, but i cant add mountians, valleys etc, i can only do it through the city screen, once square at a time...

Also, I want to upload the Mars region, and i followed the instructions, but it doesn't work. Can some please help me, I've installed the game, and that's it. I clicked Register later and now I cant even find the register button to do it now.

Please help, and thanks...

Ok, I can run it, but that's it.

How do you put in a crater? A valley? A mountian? I read the help, again, it's helpless.....

I think i'll just give up, and play something else...

that part took me a while to figure out too. You can create either a greyscale or color image in any image editing program (i prefer greyscale images made w/ photoshop) when creating a greyscale image, use black as the lowest elevation (water) and white as high mountains. then save your image and open up the landscape designer. the go to the terrain generator>file>load, resize and convert terrain. then click nearest deminsions once you load the file. NOTE: if you want a bigger reigon, you can change the amounts to double what they are now, For example this one says 499x499, just change that to the closest thing to 998x998 here is an image that i just made
    crater%20river%20mountain.jpg
here's what it looks like in the landscape designer
    ahh.jpg

You are probably thinking, what the???42.gif
Just click raise elevation until the lightest blue turns green. to make the mountains more realistic, click smooth untill you reach the desired effect. NOTE: while smoothing, the river will get wider. when done smoothing, raise the elevation untill the river isn't too wide. when i was done w/ all this this is what i came up w/:
    better.jpg

when you create your image, you will want to make the base of the mountains wider and the peak smaller.
Next , go to file and choose reigon name. then a dialog will pop up. if you already have a good name, go ahead and type that in. if you don't have a good name, click the radio button next to display 15 cities at random and click refresh grid
    15%20random.jpg
You can refresh as many times as desired untill you get a good name for it. then double click the name and click write reigon.ini. VERY IMPORTANT19.gif:go to file>save to reigon folder and open config bitmap. you should have this:
    ScreenShot004.jpg
using the different colors, place large, medium, and small cities on the grid. this is how i did mine:
    ScreenShot005.jpg
then file>save config bitmap to reigon folder.
    Here comes the easy part.
close everything and open up the game. then open the reigon that you just made and press ctrl+alt+shift+r. you will pe presented(hopefully) with this:
    ScreenShot006.jpg
    I edited this pic^
then find C>documents and settings>(your username)>sim city 4>reigons>(Bobland)>bobland.jpg. you must type this in the space where it says file name exactly as shown. IMPORTANT: this is not Bobland_color.jpg. click OK if you did this right, it should soon say creating new city. the time to render could be any where from 5 to 45 mis. depending on your machine.

    The finished product:

Though the Landscape Designer is a wonderful tool, I would rather prefer terraforming one square at a time. 1.gif

In fact, I would suggest simmers with high memory PCs to terraform one square at a time. 19.gif
