Raising ground for gradient separated highway

I have seem many city journal where people built gradient separated highways on raised ground.  I have mastered the skill of building sunken highway, but do not know how to build raised highway.  cam someone point me to a tutorial? or care to share some personal wisdom?

How do you create Sunken Highways? Do you use the Hole Digger lots ?

If yes, then there is a tool in the same set which allows you to raise the land. Once you raise the land, then you can build the normal Ground Highway on the raised land for a 'Raised Highway' feel.

 

Another known alternative would be to use the game's default Elevated Highway!

 

Hopefully, this is what you meant! I didn't understand what you meant by 'Gradient Seperated Highway' though!
