I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to use Avedesk.

Upon downloading it, it has a million and one folders, which, I presume, are used to install it. However when you click the EXE also included, instead of installing it just starts the program up. It doesn't create a folder in Program Files, does not appear in add or remove programs, or in the start menu.

I can't figure out how to get it to run on startup, since there are no program options, and I can't figure out how to use Pidl to create shortcuts.

Another problem I have found is that the taskbar icon doesn't appear when the program is running, which just gives me a big blank space with the options, but no icon.

I also have not been able to find any documentation or help files on it, so unless anyone can direct me to one or help me, I guess I will have to return to using Yahoo Widgets 32.gif.

    Any help would be appreciated!

AveDesk is a widget program similar to Desktop X or Yahoo Widgets (formerly Konfabulator). It basically allows you to add super icons to your desktop, which can be customized just about however you want. You can also get widgets to display RSS feeds on your desktop, sticky notes on desktop you can actually write on with your mouse, calanders, clocks, games, system monitors, and several other things.

AveDesk is usually used in OS X Emulation, which I am into (if you check my pictures in the Show us your desktop thread, you will see what I mean. 1.gif

    Heres the website: HERE

Anyway, after a couple hours of tinkering, I figured out how to make widget shortcuts (was actually very simple, you could drag and drop files into it (32.gif) But I am still having problems with getting it to run on startup, and gettint the taskbar icon working.
