In one word No . citys sizes are set and cannot be changed . small midsized and large .
and if your talking after you started a city again the answer is no not without wiping out the city.

Sorry for the empty post. It's by accident, after moving the post to another forum.

    Well, what I meant was:

I had a bug in one of my cities caused by a faulty lot that dropped all school bus funding to 0 I didn't notice it for quite a while since education level stayed high (?!?). oh well, the end result for my 500K mid-high wealth city was a very low land value (blood red all over). I was able to fix the school bus issues but no matter what I did (loads of parks, trees, landmarks etc') land value wouldn't rise! of course slowly all the rich people left my city and almost all buildings turned grey/black.

From my sim experience, I know once bad conditions had been fixated it's very hard to change them back or maybe it was a bug. So I was wondering is it possible to open up a city DAT file and change things manually. Like edit average land value or maybe reset it back to 50%. And while I'm at it maybe change a few more parameters in there, like no crime, higher funding etc'

Hope this is more clear 1.gif

in theory, and I do mean in theory, its possible..

That's all the info we have on savegames and editing them. As you can see there IS a desirability file but I have no clue whatsoever if it contains land value..

If you decoded that file you MIGHT be able to find a way to easily edit the values overall.

Alternatively, its possible that wiping out the historical data for the land value in the

might fix the problem (check the datasourceIDs). Unfortunately this is all manual hex work, and deffinitely make a backup if you plan to try any of it.

why cracking up the cityfiles because of such a small measure?
dont you know that education wont develop during a good night rest, but over a long time? simnation wont become stupid right after you cut the education spendings to zero, though i wouldnt wonder if the next sim generation will use these pink fluid filled pools of the noxious nylon plant for swimming. 14.gif
let your sims graduate first, before you judge them. boost your schools and libraries, wait a little longer, and watch your city rising up again.

    still your question is interesting.
