How do you put regions into the game.Ive downloaded some from the site but do not know where they go to work.Help me please

Sup man, i havent gotten it to work yet either, but These folks hate wasting bandwidht on questions answered thousands of time already, try the omnibus, if that don't help, do a forum search on map importing, or type this in.....How do i download maps?

If that don't help, give up....I did, people are so sick of seeing the same questions on here i gave up asking and just answer questions whenever I can. Some folks get so pissed off at questions already answered that they respond negatively.

 

Don't ask...LOOK!! for the most part, few will help so looking is your best option, there was a dude named Big Bazzoo or something along those lines, he tried to help me, and after it did'nt work I just didn't want to keep bothering him, so now I terraform by hand.

Ok both of you it couldn't be simpler...

So you got a map up on the STEX. It should have two files to download. The first is a greyscale jpeg and the second should be called config.bmp. In the /my documents/simcity 4/regions/ folder create a new folder with your new region name. In that new folder save the greyscale jpeg and the corresponding config.bmp. Now once saved you need to load up simcity. I would suggest removing all plugins at this stage to a different folder to ensure the terraforming runs smoothly. So start up simcity. Once the main region page has opened go to the open region option. On the list will be the new folder that you created. Open that region now. You will see probably a flat green expanse with all the city sizes laid out according to the config.bmp. now you need to hit Ctrl+Shift+Alt+R. A small open file box will appear. Navigate to the region folder where you saved the jpeg and click on it to open it. The region will start terraforming. Be patient, I have had regions taken 20 mins before and I have a pimp daddy computer. Now the only issues i can see you having after that is if a screensaver interrupts or you alt tab. I would suggest neither but if it does happen you will find some cities will be blank in the region view and appear un-terraformed. Simply open them up and save immediately they open and you will see they are actually terraformed.

 

Now in all fairness if you are having issues with that then you need to take computer courses or something because it is so easy. If you still have problems you can PM me. I can't gaurantee I will answer swiftly as I have very little free time. Demanding job, girlfriend, social life etc...

 

Follow this exactly and you will not go wrong. Also do as imotepp said too... you the search functions. I have never once asked a question because it has been answered already. Ignore some of our 'elders' but they do have a point look it up...

Thanks Pimp daddy mac-a-ho, I'll try it out when i get sick of my latest hand terraformed disasterpiece, Its actually quite a stunning region, just taking forever...
