Brave New World is a book by Aldous Huxley depicting a utopian civilization where the people at large are kept in a state of euphoria by drugs (Soma) and promiscous sex (Orgy Porgy).

An outsider (John Savage) cannot live in this soceity, and eventually is given the ultimate punishment - Exile to an Island. He goes willingly.

    Other side lights:

    • Most females are sterile (freemartins).
    • There is a caste system using the Greek alphabet with the Alphas at the top. Classes go down to the semi-moronic Epsilons who do all the scut work. Each class is conditioned to be in his class and to stay there.
    • Children as young as six, are expected to take part in erotic play. If they refuse, they are sent in for more conditioning.
    • Live birth has been expunged. Everyone is born from a laboratory bottle. This is extolled in song and story. Song Bottle of mine, its you I've always wanted. There are horror stories about mothers and a great stigma is attached to real parenthood.

Huxley's point is that this kind of utopia is hopeless.

Every minute of hate in which one indulges oneself is sixty seconds of happiness lost.

Yes, I believe U.S. government is making some very bad choices.

Laws are becoming a supression of the people, instead of a standard for their safety.

We are fighting a war, that we had already relented as finished. We had no right to back!

We talk of changes to save the emviroment, while we continue to melt the iceburgs, that will wreck our very future.

Canada will have the worlds shortest and most lucrative shipping lanes, in known history. In 10 years or less, they are saying!

Once the ice is all gone; parts of America will be swamp land.

Does China have the right idea? They are building a Dam. the biggest in the world! a cleaner source of power, even if it is flooding and destroying, Ming dynasty artifacts and uprooting entire villages. They are creating the worlds largest man made lake!

What is more important; artifacts, history, living in government housing, instaed of the village you and your, grandmothers, grandmother, were born in? Or our very existance as a planet?

I have this feeling there will be many underground railroads in the future.

I cannot help thinking of a wise quote from the Bible: And the wisdom of the world will be made foolish.

    Or maybe this prophecy:
And there arose a country, whos sign was that of a Vulture(Eagle). This country has power for 200 years.

Our time was up in 1976.

By the way USA is completely left out of prophecies after that. Most likely we destroy ourselves.

So sit back and watch the suicide show, Russia! Enjoy the slow starvation of America, Oh great Canada!

When we sink and bodies stink, You can just laugh, while picking a banana out of your front yards, lined with palm trees.

    1. Animal Farm;
    2. Brave New World; or
    3. Revolt in 2100?

The descriptions of a lot of the technology, the Wall Screens the implanted cellphone things. I can see those happening eaisly. People just going about thier lives with no concept of whats going on in the larger world( the war that most of themknow nothing about). we are  very very close to that now.

The wall screens are already here. I believe Samsung was showing off a 102 LCD TV at the most recent CSE in Las Vegas.
Anyways, I dont' really care if the government listens in on my conversations. Not going to get much useful info from me.

I am fairly certain, that I have had only a mere taste of it, But surely it is bitter beyond belief.
