Not a bad beginning. Some work to do but my first farming experiments look worse than yours.

Leave some spaces between the farms itselves and between the farm and your majaor roads. I do not recommend to lay down such a dense street grid between your farms sicne it'll pull the traffic to the farms. Make long slopes and dead-ends for connecting the farm to each other and use for example the BSC Dirt tracks as pure eye-candy connection in between.

Even though it looks like pure self-advertisement (it might be a little bit) have a look on my tutorial Part I and II on page 7 and 8 of my CJ (the direct links are in my sig)!

PS: My favourite choice would be C: leave the farms and open up a new town in the region ... 2.gif

Or you can encroach the town outward slightly into the farmlands, while still keeping the majority of the farms. Also, if you're really serious about giving this region a British feel, you may look into downloading some UK style buildings from the STEX. I'd suggest looking up buildings by gascooker and rp2005 to get you started.

No, this no true. You need gmax for building your own stuff but you do not need it to put custom stuff in your game.

I would recommend you to make a massive search for gascooker and rp2005 in the first hand like orpen said. Choose All Files at ST EXchange and type in gascooker in teh find field. then lok at his stuff and download the things you like (most probably most or all of it since he REALLY makes wonderful stuff!)

It is not hard to install them since they should have an installation program that runs the installation automatically (as long as you have a pc and not a mac).

Now comes the (a little bit) tricky part: some of the Lots need prop packs. In the readme there should be links to them however. If you don't install them you'll get a lot of brown boxes.

Something else: Look on the STEX also fo PEG's great forrest tiles and put them between your farms and the roads - looks better and protects a bit your farms from the traffic (Farms don't like traffiuc at all!

Try it and you'll love it!

    Now to your update:
Replacing yone density is not a bad idea however I would not replace all of them but the more centered one so you may get a triangular shaped density from inside to outside.

other than that it looks good!

    Keep it up!
