That rather sounds like OneDrive has been set as the default location for your UserData folder, which includes Documents. Since SC4 defaults to your Documents folder, it will be set up on OneDrive. Honestly this is pushed hard by MS, perhaps even the default.

Either disentangle OneDrive from your Documents folder or just switch it off for the SimCity4 folder in Documents.

The third way involves using the -UserDir: command, you can manually set a folder for SC4 to use.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

I have a similar question. I don't want to remove OneDrive, as it is useful for me. I'm not sure how to switch off a specific folder, as that doesn't look to be supported. The best I can do is it always leave the contents saved locally, but that doesn't stop the syncing.

How do I use the -UserDir: command? I'm lauching via Steam and have 4gb patch etc to allow me to run NAM etc etc.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of an issue where the game UI locks out, but I can still use the mouse and get sounds when I click, but the game doesn't respond at all. I suspect it might be a syncing / locking issue with OneDrive. So I want to move my Plugins and Save Game folder.
