simcity 4 patch 1 need

HI Friends!

I need the patch 1 of simcity 4 b'coz when i try to install patch 2 it updates every file but don't update the simcity_1.dat to simcity_5.dat files due to different content file size. Don't know what is that problem so plz if somebody give me the patch for sku3-to-p1 patch thanks

You can get the patch by going to the official simcity website, found here: http://simcity.ea.com/ . You will need to be registered and logged in to download the update.

yes i have download the patch from there but it is not patch 1 but it is patch 2 it updates some files but don't update the simcity_1.dat
simcity_2.dat
simcity_3.dat
simcity_4.dat
simcity5.dat
sound.dat
and says that the contents of these files don't match with patch that's why don't install it don't know what is the problem. should i need the patch 1 before updating to patch 2 or patch 2 would work fine even without patch 1?

one more thing when i update with patch 2 and run game it gives error that:

graphics rule.sgr file cannot be parsed how to solve this problem also.

I just went to the EA website and it is now offering me patch 1 on a manual update whereas two days ago it was offering me patch 2 on the auto update Maybe because I have been messing with my updates lately.

I'm not sure but was patch 1 for the original SC4 and patch 2 for Rush Hour? Because on the manual update it is allowing me to choose original or Rush Hour which may solve your problem.

Also are you sure it is the SKU3 update you need? Maybe check the region on the back of your box and try the manual update.

Some people find they need to reinstall the game before the patch will work. It is also important to remember that the patch will not work on a file that has in any way been altered. (I accidentally altered my simcity1.dat when I was first learning to mod, and the patch wouldn't apply until I reinstalled)

Also on the manual update page there is a list of correct file sizes for each region, which may help identify the problem. I think Rush Hour included patch 1 so your version may already be patched.

The graphics rule problem may be something to do with your graphics card, so check you have the latest drivers installed for it. Are you using a Radeon? There is a message about problems and a possible fix here:

both patches one and two are for rush hour and vanilla SC4. however, patch 1 for build 247 (or something like that) does not need to be installed before patch 2 (build 63 can be installed.

i think you have the regular SimCity 4 and are trying to install patch 2 for SimCity 4 Rush Hour. if that is the case, you need to find patch two for your game.

 

how to tell if you have rush hour or not? in your SimCity directory (usually C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\) there should be a file called EP1.dat. if it's not there, you don't have rush hour.

Yes prince i have simcity 4 original and i have download the patch for simcity 4 original that's why i m surprised that why it said that cannot update those files due to different contents type. i even reinstall and then try to patch but still not work.

There may be several issues here. First of all, if your copy of SC4 is for one region and the RH copy is for a different region, you will have to get an RH disk that matches the first. There are, I seem to recall, five different regional versions. Once you have a compatible set proceed as follows:

1. Save your regions and plugins folders to another part of your disk, or copy them to a CD or DVD.
   
2. Completely uninstall SC4 and make sure you get rid of all of its directories. If you have a registry cleanup tool, run it to make sure they are no garbage references to SC4.
   
3. Clean up your machine and do a defragmentation on your hard disks.
   
4. Install SC4 - do not patch it.
   
5. Install RH - includes the patches for SC4
   
6. Patch with Update 1 (only)
   
7. If you have the BAT, install the BAT patch from the BAT page
   
8. Restore your plugins and regions. You may want to merge them with the default game ones.
   

You should now be able to play. If you have further problems add on here and let us know.

n o body i have only sc4 original no rush hour extension and i also have not use any bat or lot at all.
