Plugins question

I know that SimCity looks at the My Documents plugins folder first before the Program Files one.  My question is, all of my plugins are located in the Program Files one on another drive.  Set up like this:

E:/SimCity/Plugins

 

Is there any way that I can link that to the Plugins folder located in C:/.../plugins and work correctly?

I install SC4 onto a seperate partition (D: for me), but I think the game always uses My Documents/Sim City 4/Plugins on the C: drive. I always place my plugins there and everything works perfectly.

Lets say you installed windows on one drive, lets call that C:
if you install the GAME on D:

the simcity folder will still appear in C:/Documents and settings/~user/my documents/Simcity because the documents resides on the drive that windows is installed on.

 

if you put plugins in D:/program files/maxis/simcity 4/plugins, that will be for ALL users.

 

if you put plugins in C:/documents and settings/~user/my documents/simcity 4/plugins that well be omly for ~user so any other people who play the game get the standard game and not your personal plug-ins.

But would it cause a performance issue if if was a link to the Program File plugin?  I tried it last night, but I'm not sure if it caused any performance problems.  I didn't play long enough to find out.
