It sounds like the person who created the city may have used a custom bat in the city, which you don't have on your computer. Given the very large number of custom bats available, I think it would be virtually impossible to track which particular one is needed.

You might be able to look at the city for clues, eg brown boxes, or lots missing buildings, props or textures. Other than that you should check any notes or readmes the creator of the city left at the site where you downloaded it, or in the download file.

Welcome to Simtropolis. PM me or others if you need any help.

If you don't see any brown boxes or missing items in your city then there is no problem. If you do tell us as it may help.

Another thing I forgot: Keep an eye out for the sliding funding bug in your utilities and civic structures. This occurs if you place a custom civic or utility lot in your city and then delete the file from your plugins folder without bulldozing the lot in the city. It may also occur in your situation as you may have the lot/bat in your city but not in your plugins folder.

The kinds of lot this bug affects include education, health, police, fire and power utilities. When it occurs you will see the funding sliders on the affected items and your budget sheet either rising or falling without you altering them. You may also get unexpected strikes when funding falls too low.

    Welcome to Simtropolis. 10.gif

When you download a lot or bat from the STEX there will usually be a readme file included that will list the props and other dependencies needed.  It will give you the names and frequently will include links.  Always, always read the readme file.
