look nice, but i would make a smaller 1, don't put two pictures next to each other to get past the rule, just pleas use 1 800x600 picture.

don't close it, just make a smaller picture, we would be find with that, the old picture made me have to scroll left and right to see everything, which can be a problem in the future.

no its too late, this CJ is already off to a bad start.  I'll have to wait for a week or two now and let this topic die.  and maybe I can build my confidence back up in the meantime.15.gif

when someone with a presence of over 1000 posts says you've done wrong it kinda hurts...

Well I have near 3,000 posts and 4 nominations for trixie in the C.J. catagories and I say your doing a kick ass job.The region is a nice gathering of rivers and plains and I really want to see you continue this.I think I know a thing or two about C.J.s and this oine is going to do pretty good.If you don't think I know what I'm talking about then check my C.J.s.Also you may need a few more trees in the region, but other then that keep going!

thanks Cjah.  actually all those city squares are full of trees.  there are just so many and so tightly packed it looks likes plains.  anyways, this thread already has so many off topic posts and a bad vibe I really dont want to continue my CJ in this thread.  I would like to ask the moderators to kill this thread (close it) so it can die and maybe in a few days I'll try to start up a new one.

I have been planning this CJ since September; downloading specific lots and mods, learning Ilives Reader to tweak lots the way I wanted them, hand terraforming my region, comming up with backstory, history and playing city after city to test new mass transit designs so I could have something new and interesting to show everyone.

It actually took me a few weeks to build up enough courage to post my first CJ.  seeing all these other CJs with such professional quality and amazing design I almost did not feel qualified to post here.  I also wanted to make a good impression with the community as I have a good deal of respect for many of you guys and gals here on Simtropolis.

then my first two replys were about how I screwed up the pic (which btw took me a few hours to figure out how to do in the first place cause mosaics are not easy).  so that just shot my confidence all to heck.  in fact, the very first post was purely negative.  In all the CJs Ive read I have never seen anyone post a purely negative comment about a CJ.  so of course that hurt.  besides, I have seen mosaics in other threads (CJs and other forums) and I was so amazed and impressed.  that is why I did it, because I thought it was cool, not because I was trying to break any rules...

I would like to restart my CJ but I can't do it in this thread, and, I certainly can't do it feeling like this.  I have to calm down for a few days before I can start again.

Hmm thats cool you have been waiting that long to start your C.J.It took me around 6 months to get started myself....hell you had the courage to try a mosaic...I have never got my corage that high....

I logged on too late to see the first entry of this abandoned CJ, so I'm not quite sure what the hubub was about. I gather, however, that you oriented your mosaic horizontially. Generally, when making mosaics, it's best to scroll them vertically, as people are more accustomed to scrolling down a page anyway. Also, make sure each separate image in the mosaic is no more than 800x600.

But as for mosaics, CJ authors like Aleking have shown that they are definitely worth the effort---and LEGAL to post!

So don't get discouraged. Nexis apparently forgot their manners and should feel worse than you do right now.

Buck up, try it again, and do the CJ for yourself, not anyone else! It's YOUR region and YOUR story, so take whatever criticism you get constructively and keep your mind set on the goals of your journal---and don't give up!

Man, no big deal...simple mistake! Just pick up the pieces and go on, it sounds like it is an awesome CJ! Let's see it!
