Although he passed away in 1998, his influence on popular music continues.

What can be said of the boy who wowed the Bobby Soxers to the great entertainer on stage for 70 years.  Not only a singer, but an actor who collected an Oscar in 1953 for Best Supporting Actor in From Here to Eternity.

From the swing era to jazz and everything that followed balledically, nothing but greatness.

Ol' Blue Eyes, Chairman of the Board, the Sultan of Swoon, the Voice.  The Rat Pack.  The Johnny Fontane character in The Godfather was based on Frank Sinatra and even Scooby Doo was named after a line in Strangers in the Night.  By the way, Sinatra hated that song, calling it “a piece of s**t” and “the worst f**king song I’ve ever heard.”  An asteroid, 7934 Sinatra, is named after him.  And the last song Frank Sinatra ever performed live was The Best is Yet to Come at a golf tournament function in 1995, which the title is also on his tombstone.
