Miss something

I have just had to reinstall my pluggin, which was not fun some 7.5Gb

 

the only new pluggin that I had to find was SimFoxProps_8Chestnuts.

 

Now when I go into the God Mod to place trees I have the lovely brown box,

 

If I strip down the plugging folder to nothing and place the tree in god mod, then replace the  plugging folder. everything is normal

 

Everything work gang buster before I have use SimFoxProps_8Chestnuts. if I remove this pluggin I have brown box everywhere

 

Any one know what I am missing

Well, good luck with this.  I suggest you try the binary search outlined

 

If you don't mind, a word of advice.  Keep backups offline.  If you have a disk crash or for some other reason have to rebuild your machine you will find this invaluable.   Do not count on your operating system to protect you without help.  I believe in both belt and suspenders when it comes to my data.

 

Not only do I backup my machine regularly (Thursday at midnight) to a free standing HDD, but I occasionally back up my SimCity 4 directory to a separate off-line HDD when I have done something significant to my game.  Even though I have excess disk storage built in to my box of tricks, I also have two free-standing HDDs.  One is a terabyte drive which is always on-line containing backup partitions and other good things, and a 300 GB drive that is usually powered down, but connected to the machine and so nearly instantly available.

 

If you don't have the budget nor the ports for this kind of arrangement, you should use a large thumb drive or two, and remember to do regular backups.

 

FYI: I also keep each and every download I do in a separate directory appropriately organized.  Since this is on my O/S drive, it is included in my weekly backup (which is incremental).

I found  the problem in a few minutes it was this mod (Maxis tree replacement mod) which replace every tree in the game

 

I replace all the computer in the house as they get levery old

 

Every computer is backup off site daily now
