Can you render the region view...without loading and saving each one?

I, like most people on here use SC4 Mapper 2013 to make regions from greyscale images etc. The final product is that ugly half rendered view, and you have to load and save each one to get it to how up properly. 

 

Is there another way to render regions to make them look good without having to load each map tile?

You need to render each tile, but there is the makes it much easier and much faster.

If you have the grey scale map, you don't need Mapper.  In order to create a proper config.bmp if one is not present use read in your map, then invoke the config.bmp creator.  When you have finished, simply use the game to render your map.
