Product Code Entry?

Just started the game for the first time, Steam is bugging me about needing to enter a product code, but the game never asks for it and I can't find any place to enter it. If I exit the game and reopen it, the logon to Paradox is forgotten and every time I retype in the details I am once again rewarded with the Paradox Plaza, which needs to be unlocked every time I run the game. Is this connected somehow?

I haven't heard of this issue from others so far. Try verifying the integrity of your files through Steam, you can do that by right clicking on the game in your Steam Library. See if that helps =)

Funny because I have that exact same problem. It says write this product key down, you will be asked to enter it when you enter the game. It never prompts for the key. I just do shift+tab to get rid of it.

I've seen this with quite a lot of steam games - it offers the product key, but you don't really need it. Nothing to worry about; I guess steam is being "better safe than sorry."

 

It's remembering my paradox login fine, though.

Sorry, would have reported back sooner but I'm still playing, I think I might have to get some sleep soon!

 

The login worked after a few attempts and all is well, so perhaps a busy server?

The product code that Steam gives you is entered on Paradox Plaza's forums, not in the game. It will grant you access to the support area for Cities: Skylines in case you run into problems.
