Wine files to mac Plugin Folder

Hi All

I am having a problem with some of the MODs that I download that are .exe files that I run in wine.

I downloaded the PEG Brigantine water mod and ran it in wine (couldn't be extracted in unarchiver because it is not a zip). The extraction worked and the .dat file is sitting nicely in my documents in wine.

However, I do not run my Simcity through wine as I have the mac version. So how do I get that .dat file out of wine and into my plugin folder so it can work?

Maybe I am missing something here. I tried to find a ZIP file for this mod but it seems to be missing in action.

Any help or tips are greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andy

    Problem Solved.

What I did was to change the destination directory away from the C: directory that wine wanted to a folder on my Mac desktop. The extraction worked and there was the .dat file I needed. Then it is just to move it into the plugin folder.

I hope this helps other mac users and sorry for being so green.

    Thanks

Manually, you can access both plugin file locations by right/control-clicking on the Wineskin app and selecting "Show Package Contents".  The folder that opens will have a symlink to the "c drive" of the app.

You can also set the app to map the "windows" My Documents folder to the Documents folder in your user (among other possible mappings).  This is the easiest way to go.  It also allows you to replace the app for whatever reason (corruption, etc.) and drop in a fresh copy without having to touch your plugins, outside of any modifications you may have made to the Program Files plugins which will still reside within the container app.  Ideally you should make a backup after making such modifications such that you won't have to touch anything in the future.
