Teen ager arrested for being a Jihadi.

This is covered by the Criminal Code.  If you get caught, and the evidence is there, too bad, kid.

I propose anti-radicalization measures for greed, dishonesty and consumerism for they are more corrosive than the lure of jihad. Far bigger problems then a few stupid wannabe teenage jihadists.

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

While this may be a trivial example, I don't think it is a trivial thing.  This kid could be tried as an adult and sentenced to 10 years or more.  We've just started using consecutive sentencing so he could get hit with the terrorism charge plus the armed robbery charge, convicted of both and be around 40 when he gets out of Crime University.

This is being taken quite seriously by our security people, and I support that.  Daesh is serious business not a set of Muslim Robin Hoods.

Oh yeah, thats really gonna help. Teenagers, people who are literally at the point in their lives when they are at their dumbest and stupidists, get thrown in jail. Jail does not stop radicalization, nor will it stop anyone else from radicalizing.

Treat Jihadis like they are liberated from a cult. Deprogram them, and then reprogram them. Don't punish them.

I would have hoped that our friends up north would have learned a little from our parade of mistakes. Seems they're on the same, albeit slightly shallower trajectory that we're on.  This is supposed to reduce the levels of alienation and resentment that these people have developed for one reason or another?

The "war on terror" (which this is a part of) has done nothing but...propagate more terror.  Ditto the wars on drugs, poverty, etc.  Maybe it's, as Ln X suggested, time to start declaring war on money, education, infrastructure, etc. and we just might start seeing our first positive results since the late 1940s.  And maybe finding some word other than "war" in our public discourse when talking about such programs.  The whole concept is endemic to our culture.

In this case and similar ones, the purpose of that section of the criminal code is to prevent Canadians from becoming involved in criminal behaviour abroad.  It is not only teeners who get caught up in this.

Recent events in Quebec and Ottawa only highlight the pervasiveness of radicalization that is taking place world-wide.  Turns out that the devil is in the Internet.  Before world-wide communications on an instant basis were available, things were on a much slower basis.  Someone turned up the rat race and some rats are turning out to be weasels.

Human beings are acting like lemmings, rushing to their own destruction.
