Hello everyone.

I was wondering. I don't wanna be rude or anything similar, but since it's a pain in the ass to get all dependecies, I was thinking if there was somwhere a mod pack of growable residentials, commercials and industrials that are up to date (since simcity is quite old now) ?

I'm not looking for a huge file. Juste some new buildings and stuffs. Max 1gb will be fine I guess...

I've found this one. But i don't know much about his content.

Thanks, see ya

Nothing to do with this topic, but what are the biggest buildings ever creating for Simcity4 ? (with the most residents? or with the most jobs ? )

see ya

Welcome to Simtropolis

You need to walk before you run as usual.  Because of copyright concerns there are no mixed mod packs such as you are seeking.  Your best bet is the DVD being sold on the home page which contains hundreds of lots and their dependencies if any.

Also, take a look at Paeng, MadHatter106, and JMeyers (BSC member), jasoncw, MattB325.  These are the contributors I have the most lots from.  My taste may not be necessarily your taste.  Some of these have a number of dependencies, but many of them are common.

A level playing field is always a good thing.  What version of the game do your have?  Is it loaded from CD or a digital download?

    Hi, thanks for your answer.

I use the gog version, but I also have the old CD version...

I used to play the game when it came out, but now I've tried the new simcity (which totally sucks by the way), I wanted to play the the old one.

As far as now, I've played the game with NAM, Radius doubler and I add a farm mod (don't remember the name, but it's great..). Seriously, The NAM is quite impressive, but what the $%&^!, it's just too messy. There are too many icon in the menus and it's seriously annoying to use the customs roads. etc.

I tried the CAM, but I haven't noticed anything changed...

I think it's really sad for all simcity lovers that great modders can't get along with each other to make great (big) mods or addons, like they are in Skyrim, Morrowind, Half-Life... etc.

About the DVD, I've read on a forum that on the DVD you cannot sort them by GROW, so it kinda suck in this way...

Oh, and I've found this thing...

I've seen a video on youtube from a guy that has more than 5 mio people in his city... He has incredible buildings. But where did he get these ?

Well if you have a digital download and the NAM installed you probably have version 1,1,641 which is the very latest.  I ran CAM for a while but found I wasn't enjoying the game as much so I did a restart without it.  Some people simply like the extended levels, but I have no desire for pin-cushion cities.

I don't use any items like the radius doubler or demand mods.  I've found they skew the game too much from the original intent.  But that is a matter of personal taste, as is CAM.

My main mods are NAM, RTMT, Pegasus CDK3 and SPAM.  I don't load the whole NAM.  I currently don't need all that, and that's one of the great things about using the NAM custom installer.  Just load up what you want at any given time, bearing in mind that once you have something in a city, it is very hard to remove it.  Pulling a feature out of NAM usually means starting a new Region.  However, you can add stuff incrementally as you want to take features on.  The team, especially Z1, have done a superb job on that installer.

I am not a large plugin user.  I have only 989.4 MB on disk, and of that 31.8 % is BSC BATters and their dependencies, 21.5 % for my shaved down NAM, 10.4 % from Simpeg including SPAM, and the rest is divided up in individual providers.  (And yes, I do have a utility program called disk usage analyzer that tells me interesting stuff like this.  Linux has its points.)

The point of all this is that every player usually develops his own peculiar style of play.  Over the 12 or so years I've been playing I’ve probably gone through half a dozen or more shifts of emphasis and currently am working on mostly rural scenes with some serious sea ports.  Pulled this illustration for another user earlier today, and you might find it interesting.  It is my biggest city currently.

This city has gotten to the point where I can't play it any more because it overwhelms my computer. I'll need a new box of tricks if I want to do any more things with it.  There are lots of other tiles in the region and I currently have 10 active regions, so there is lots of variety.
