Google Earth

Hello all: I just started checking out google earth for inspiration for my future CJ. While I've used it before I came back go simcity, I never realized how useful, interesting, and fun (I'm a nerd) it can be to utilllize in sc planning. So:

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a GE "database" (post with picture links) in a format just like the "show us your" simcity pictures but of interesting real cities. Likely topics might be seaports, airports, gov centers, CBD's, oil refinerys, college campuses, etc.

What say you?

Absolutely. I've wasted thousands of hours exploring the world on Google earth since about 2005 or so when I first learned about it. It ranks just behind Simcity 4 as my favourite computer hobby (not a game!).

 

I would also recommend that we post coordinates alongside any pictures. That way, if a particular region takes our fancy we can easily explore the location independently.

First off I am happy that I am not alone in my nerdiness . and I totally agree about coordinates. i am hoping we'll get more fellow nerds to assist, hopefully they'll show up soon.

Wow! I'm not the only one that spends a lot of time exploring on Google Earth! I thought that I was weird for liking to do that.
