Need a thorough guide - Mining City

Hello all,

Is there a guide that I can follow to build a successful Mining City (Coal and Ore - Alloy + Metal) and fully upgrade Metal's HQ as well as provide all the Alloys and Metals for the Arcology. Due to lack of space and in need a lot of workers that could led to a terrible traffic (trust me, terrible, matter not the road design). I led to believe that the city does not need a education buildings, medium and high wealth residential as well as medium/high commercial buildings. Tho I can be wrong in this, so I need some guide from the forums. Please correct me and share your tips.

Playing without Sandbox and offline + no cheat mods only visual mods, I wanted to make a progressive city, once the mine is depleted, I wish to continue make it as an industrial + low wealth workers. + OmegaCo city (import oil by trade depot). Complete with normal Megatowers (low wealth only) that was the plan.

  • Education is important, I understand that it helps reducing pollution, crime and such so I send the uneducated sims to neighboring cities that has education which also have medium and high wealth residential.
  • What led me to dismiss commercial in mining/industrial city is because - Traffic. I can't deal with shoppers driving out from their home to the opposite direction of workers coming back from work. This cause other sims to get late for work and upset, I need the shoppers to travel away from industrial roads. A good tip from Skye Storme's Residential without Commercial and Commercial without Industry
  • Due to high crime, health and fire issues, it is best to make your sims happy with low tax, as low as 7% for residential, 6% for commercials and 5% for industry
  • I only use normal roads, medium and high density avenue. I don't use street car avenue.
  • Infinite water trick - Mining/Industrial city is best for providing water to all neighboring cities
  • Use the train station to commute Medium Wealth workers.
  • Judging from simcityplanningguide.com - Mass Transit the best way to bring Medium and High Wealth workers to Mining city is by Commuter Airship Mooring (Haven't test this yet)

What are your thoughts, is there something I miss or I need to be corrected with my do-and-dont's? I've tried and retry building my mining city and I'm not satisfy with certain results that leading me to bankruptcy.

Thanks in advance 0:)
