EP1 causing slowness

I just installed the EP1 update to get nightlights, but now the graphics are so high i can't even move in the game, and the nightlights still aren't working! I do have the Simfox darknite mode, but it didn't make a difference in the lights, help!

EP1 has nothing to do with nightlights.  The graphics settings are up to you.  EP1 is an essential bug fix, however.  I suggest you set your shadows to medium or low, and turn off clouds and waves.

 

To add the nightlights you need this patch.

 

Both of these are contingent on a load from CD and must be done in order.
