Being driven mad by sewage

I have a city with a population of 96000, it has a small amount of industry and commercial, 2 large casinos and 2 processor factories. I provided 2 sewage treatment plants, both maxed out fully, and have an excess of 340 sewage. I know that sewage can come in bursts and overwhelm the plants, but I have been having many people and businesses abandoning their buildings because of sewage. Well I watched the sewage level for a long time to see if its dropping to very low levels at times, but it didnt, I always had loads of excess, yet people are still abandoning buildings. So is this a bug with the game? Because if I'm providing plenty of coverage then I see no reason why this should be happening. Its actually really really starting to get on my nerves now, Im sick of complaints about sewage, and having to constantly knock down buildings abandoned because of sewage.

I would recommend checking the sewage map. Sometimes, the sewage doesn't get to the treatment plants in time. Sometimes, a building could be "spewing" with sewage and cause the whole block trouble.

--Ocram

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Post a screenshot of your sewage data map. Have you considered the possibility that your road network may be hindering the flow of sewage from certain areas?

Are you playing in a region with other people?  Are you set up to accept sewage from other cities?  You could be the the downhill that the feces is rolling to.

Hi guys. I got a little agitated with the situation and ended up demolishing the problem part of the city and redesigning it. I had a few roundabouts in the city and several large blocks of high density residential, the problems seemed to be centred around that area. Since then I have had no serious issues with sewage complaints, so it must have been those roundabouts that were causing the problem. Lesson learned, and thank you for your replies.

I have discovered that you need to space the sewage treatment plants appropriately, because if not one plant will be fine while the other is accepting way more than it can handle...

I noticed that too.. I''me pretty new to simcity and while playing I saw one plant redlined and the one next to it empty and green... I didn't understand why it didn't flow to each evenly
