I've been trying to figure out what each of the regions are supposed to be based on.  I have an idea on most, but on some I don't really know.  Anyways here's my list.

Sunrunner Bay - Florida Keys

Reasons: Several islands connected to the mainland via a long highway

Cape Trinity - ???

Reasons: Small coastal region with generic geography and city names

Whitewater Valley - ???

Reasons: Generic river region with city names such as Twain that imply Southern U.S. although geography doesn't seem to match, and Brakeman's Folly that implies the region was or is very railroad dependent, but railroads can be found practically everywhere

Serenity Key - Hawaiian Islands

Reasons: Hawaiian names, geography, and climate

Reflection Atoll - ???

Reasons: Generic tropical island with geography and city names that imply plenty of mining, oil drilling, and vacationing in the region

Edgewater Bay - San Fransisco Bay Area?

Reasons: Presence of a bay and names of cities such as Mason Hill possibly based Fort Mason, Callahan Canyon possibly based on the character Harry Callahan, and Fort Ferguson being geographically where Fort Point is in San Francisco which is also where the Golden Gate Bridge is located

Desolation - New Mexico area

Reasons: Region recovering from a nuclear disaster, similar to New Mexico being home to numerous nuclear tests, and a city named Whitesand Springs, possibly based on White Sands National Monument in New Mexico

Verdant Jungle - Amazon Rainforest

Reasons: Similar climate to the Amazon as well as city names such as Toucan Valley, Osprey, Tapir Valley, Anaconda Bay, and Jaguar Ridge, all names of animals that live in the Amazon

Granite Lake - Colorado

Reasons: Developers stated based on Colorado

Horizon Archipelago- Japan

Reasons: Island geography and Japanese city names

Rambling Badlands - Sonoran Desert/Arizona area

Reasons: Desert climate and city names such as Iguana Flats, Saguaro River, Prickly Pear Cliffs, Yucca, Rattlesnake Ridge, Scorpion Shores, and Coyote Cliffs, all names of plants or animals that live in the Sonoran Desert portion of Arizona

Viridian Woods - Northeastern US? possibly Pennsylvania?

Reasons: Heavily wooded and city names such as Lancaster Pointe, possibly based on Lancaster PA, and Strausburrg Isles, possibly based on Strasburg PA

Titan Gorge - California area

Reasons: Mountainous terrain and gold rush-type city names such as Prospect, Conestoga Crossing, and Placer Vista, possibly based on Placerville CA

Discovery Delta - Southern U.S. area

Reasons: Wetland climate and geography and city names such as Cotton Bend, Sawyer's Crossing, and Huckleberry Island

Anyone agree or disagree? and does anyone have any ideas for the question marked cities?

I've made a possible conclusion for two of the three

Cape Trinity - New Jersey? possibly Cape May NJ?

Reasons: Cape geography and legalized gambling

    Whitewater Valley - Missouri area

Reasons: City named Twain, Mark Twain was born in Florida, MO and geography is similar to area of the Ozarks

Reflection Atoll is still a big mystery.
