Simcity Bandwidth test

Testing out just how much bandwidth Simcity uses while actually playing to see how much gets "offloaded to their servers" as they claim.

I've found that once you start playing, very little bandwidth is actually used to connect to simcity servers... which are hosted on amazon servers (see attachments).

Yes well this was proven quite a while ago as well. Its pretty obvious at this point that the server is nothing more than a drm check and a save point for your cities. Apart from that, I dont think online functionality is much, if any. The whole debacle about handling calculations through the online cloud was just bullshector, so don't worry you will not suddenly endure a slew of new processes while playing the game.

The Global Market and regional trading are probably compressed when travelling between client and server. They are almost certainly far less resource intensive than the simulator.
