Issues with Omega and resources.

Just a quick question I hope I am posting in the correct subforum.

 

I made a industrial city and had it all going good with omega and making alot of profits.

 

However I ran out of oil in my city and when completely bankrupt because I ran into a -10.000 decifit an hour. I tried turning of all omega factories and save money that way but didnt help.

 

What do you guys do when you run out of resources?

I made sure I built trade depots before I built the Omega factories.

This allowed the storage and importing of resources as needed for factories.

 

Eventually you can get the add on that lets each factory have direct access to the global market to import resources as neccesary.

once you have the vitolpods for the factories do people see a need for a normal trade depot to import resources, just trying o save space and wondered if i needed to have the trade depot

You could theoretically import other stuff or stuff for other factories. I usually keep 1 trade depot or port and give all my OmegaCo factories VTOL.

Trade depots are the only way to avoid that. Right now I'm almost out of ore so I'm planning on making a industrial city dedicated to helping out my omega driven city.

When you Omega reserves are exhausted and  your region has no more try going back to a non-omega city.  Hopefully you will have amazed a nice bankroll.  Bulldoze all those abandoned buildings after you have turned off the omega facilities and your new buildings should be omega free.    Omega is like an addiction... You will never have enough to satisfy your city.    I find that in one of my regions now even with the max plants churning away.    I am banking my profits and will start new with a big bankroll and hope that works...   One other option is the plan ahead before you build your region and make each city dedicated to one resource so that they will trade with each other and set you trade depots accordingly..
