Plugins/Mods stopped working

Hello,

I have an issue within my plugins folder.

From day to day I have discovered that extra cheats plugin sometimes work, sometimes don't. I thought - I can live with that. But yesterday Ennedi slope mod stopped working along with Persistent Automata.

Before this happened I have reinstalled NAM 31.2 to get some of the features I left behind in the past... Custom installation with persistent automata, and radical automata... I loaded city and saw that there was almost no automata on my roads.

Don't know what could have happen. In addition: I have recently installed usefull plugins like 'minimize button remover', 'no more dozer' 'no track checker' and such.

Any thoughts?

Maybe you should check the loading order. True, this isn't going to help the ExtraCheats.dll, because that one works inconsistently, but make sure the Persistent Automata and Ennedi's Slope Mod load after anything else of the NAM.

    Thanks MandelSoft.

However in my plugins folder Nam filer are cathegorized in subfolder, so they should load first right? Ennedi and persistent automata are single plugin files located deep under any subfolder. Am I right?

I am pretty sure that the reason your slope mod (Ennedi's version) has stopped working is because of the No Dozer Mod.

I did the same thing. As it turns out, the parameter for the bulldozer/paving crew speed is part of the slope exemplars for the networks. Ennedi himself mentions that his mod speeds up construction time by 3; it is a simple matter of taking the values in the no dozer mod and putting them in the appropriate place in Ennedi's mod (where Ennedi's already modified values are)

Hope this helps. Can't say much about the automata, though, other than that you should make sure your graphics options have automata set to MED or HIGH.

Thanks APSMS. That solved problem with slope mod. Now I need to fix that automata plugin along with NAM automata.

Just a remark:  I have never had a problem with the extra cheats dll.  It must not be in a sub-folder, but other than that it is just fine.

Yeah, I know it wouldn't work at all. Insted it works like 80% of time I launch the game.

    Any ideas with automata?

Beats me.  I've never known it to fail.  How big is your plugin suite?  You may have a conflict or two.  Which commands fail?  Can you not open the dialogue?  If the dialogue won't open, you've got something wrong with the game, because there are default cheats.  If it does open, can you right click to list the options?  The options have parameters, sometimes, and you need to understand them.

My plugin folder is ~2Gb approx. Problem with automata started right after I reinstalled NAM... about extra cheat: dialog box always open, the right click command list pops up almost every time. When it doesn't hand typing commands are not working. I mean the commands from extra cheats.

As far as automata go, if you think the problem is in the NAM, it is very easy to remove the Automata file from the NAM subfolders (a quick perusing should do the trick; it is obviously named). Since it is only a visual mod, you may swap it out and back with others at no cost/fear of crashes.

This should indicate right away what the problem is. It may well be one of the automata mods packaged with the NAM is bugged. Of course, how big is the test city?

I'm currently working on new region, so cities are 35k pop max. However I could get about 7k commuters on highway in one of them and it feels empty at the moment ;/

So if I understand correctly i should remove automata files from NAM folder. What about 'persistent automata' plugin that is available on stex?

That is the one in the NAM if you opted for the default (or at least, the NAM offers it as an option already). You could try the NAM radical 24 hr, or the NAM radical; both are supposed to add much more cars, and the 24 hr one ignores commute display (traffic all directions all the time instead of the morning/evening schedule that the game's default shows--along with all non-24 hour mods).

I currently don't have a problem with commuters showing on my roads, so I can't say anything from experience here. Did you check your graphics options for the automata display?

Options checked. When I was reinstalling NAM I was sure i checked -persistent automata and radical automata (not the 24h one). There was no problem before... I don't know where is the conflict.

Conflict unlikely, bugged plugin, more probable, though the cause is uncertain. Short of doing a binary plugins breakdown, it may be worth it (if you can) to find all your non NAM transit mods and make sure they are what you think they are, and whether they interfere with the new NAM options

EOT: I reinstalled NAM. Picked radical automata for 24h. problem solved. Now there's plenty of cars back on roads :)

    Thanks for answers.

If you can't right click for the command list in extra cheats, it didn't load for some reason.
