Does Cities of Tomorrow really take more of a powerful computer?

It seems like it by the specs but I could be wrong. What do you all think ?

I currently run Simcity 5 on:

i5 2500k @ 4 Ghz

8 GB of ram

ATI 5750

1680x1050 resolution.

High works fine but I can use Ultra ok.

Will Cities of Tomorrow require more power ? I hope only because of larger maps. Would easily upgrade my graphics card for larger maps.

At least from this page it seems like it.

It's possible that it might, but I doubt that's because there are bigger maps.

If there were going to be bigger maps, the developer would have made that the selling point seeing as though so many people have been nagging EA for it. The main thing in Cities of Tomorrow is that you'll be able to build 'up' instead of 'out'. I'd say it requires better specs because cities will be able to hold much larger populations due to the mega-structures.

Should also mention that EA and Maxis did say after initial release that they didn't have any plans to expand the size of the cities, but larger maps may become available in future releases.... So it is possible that the maps are bigger, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    Thanks.

Just that recommending nVidia GTX 275 or better or ATI 5850 or better is pretty powerful graphic cards!

Getting a nVidia GTS 770 so not a problem. Though not just for Simcity 5 of course. Though it should help a lot there anyway.
