Hey,

I'm trying to start up a video game development studio as a spare-time hobby and I'm currently looking for a proper logo.

I've got a bunch of cool designs but I would really appreciate your input as I cannot really decide which logo to pick.

A little about the company: The company is called "Irradiated Games". In the long run I want to develop various types of action-, strategy- and simulation games. Either for pc, consoles or mobile devices. The theme of the games will be contemporary and/or futuristic in terms of theme and feel as it is the themes and genres that appeal most to me (I'm not really into fantasy, medieval style games)

I don't have any current active projects but I have a bunch of ideas that I'm going to try out.

The poll can be found here:

As a person who likes graphic designs and loves to make logos, I voted for the first one "The logo is minimalist and the symbol is very sleek." Two things I love about logos!

1. I voted.

2. I would strongly highly extremely hugely advise you to consider making a city simulation game.

Oh you have no idea how high that is on my list of projects xD Probably not the first project I'll start as I need to gain some more experience. My experience is currently only on 2d games and I have only briefly tried 3d graphics.

No worries. Well I'm plodding along with my Game Maker project Virtucity, but the likelihood of me ever having curvy roads and GlassBox is quite slim lol. I wish you the best of luck with your project. It was such a dissappointment what happened with Civitas...

Working on a city simulation is turning out to be a very big undertaking.  The amount of research and education involved is a life study.  Come see us at Boomtown.

Is this dead? Been a few weeks since I went past their forums and it seemed quite dead even though the mods there were constantly saying "oh it's not dead, they just don't have time to go to the forums"

    Yeah I could imagine.

I would need to get at least a few colleagues before I attempted developing such a game if it should be just as complex as ie. SC3000 :) A game like the original SC or SC2000 may be the first step to gain some experience :)

Well, you would be welcome to join the group at Boomtown.  The outlines the game but makes no attempt at designing a program.  You can see the flexible borders simulation here.

I've been a programmer for over 50 years, and I wouldn't try to write such a program without a lot of research.  This is going on right now as Buggi finds the time.  Our initial attempt at getting the name copyrighted failed.  We have no money, so we can't fight it.  Anyone willing to volunteer some work is welcome.  We don't see getting any funding anytime soon.

Well I doubt Virtucity will get anywhere as it's using Game Maker. Civitas... Well the mods insist Brandon is still working on it. Only time will tell.
