SC4 and Windows 8/ 64

I've installed SC 4 deluxe on my new Windows 8 PC without any Problems but can't start the game. Are there any known adjustments which I have to follow?

SC4 deluxe works well on Windows 8 for me.  When you play you must insert the disk.

I got the deluxe edition from Origin and it works out of the box in my case.

 

You could try to change the compability settings to winxp and admin rights but I'm not sure that will help you.

You could also try to run the game with the command line switch "-cpucount:1" as the game is not well written to run on multiple cpu's (right click shortcut -> Properties -> "Shortcut" tab -> Add to the end of the "Target" text field - remember a space between the " and the -. something like "d:\games\simcity 4 deluxe edition\apps\simcity 4.exe" -cpucount:1)
