I have some questions

Okay I have tryed going through some of your forums first to try and find the info myself but I had a stroke and sometimes I lose the ability to understand some stuff that I read unless it is explained a little better!

I would like to know first where exactly I can find the exe file for ilive? So that I can make minor changes to the stats of some buildings in rush hour that i down load from here? I just can't seem to figure out how to get it.

Second I would really like to know where is the best place to put (dat files) (prop files) as well as (desc & model files) I am asking this because I have noticed that in some of the read me's in the down loads they say different things and or conflict at times with each other.

I am just trying to do this right because I down loaded a lot of stuff from here but something screwed my game up and came up with a message that said plug in pack missing in everyone of my cities and as per the forum thread I ended up reading here it said to wipe out the game and start all over again which I am now doing. But I am reloading over 700 zip files now as well as the CD that simtrop sent me for my donation and I would just like it to work right for me because it is taking me days to do without even being able to play the game in fear I will screw something up before I am done.

Thanks ahead of time for your kind help!
Dave
P.S. I really want to thank all of you creaters for making this sim much more enjoyable for me! I am home a lot and games are what keep my mind active and me sain and you have done a great service for people like me!

Well the files goes into the my document/plugins folder. Here you can make sub folders.

It's sound like you are missing what is call dependencies. This is files need but not include. You find infomation about them in the read me's.

Welcome to ST, leovampire! (Cool name.) 38.gif

Here are my answers in order in which they were asked:

    1) You can find ilive's EXEs in the Modding File section, on the very bottom part of the little nav bar on the left of yer screen.

    2) The best place to put plugins is, well, your plugins folder. (Before you start doing that though, be sure to check this out so it doesnt become a 200-MB jumble of files, like mine. 3.gif) And for those conflict, just stick them into a folder outside your plugins directories (or to be especially safe, out of your SC4 folders).

PM me for more help if you need it. 44.gif

Thanks 1dera3 it is great advice but thank god something I thought of before I started all of this I am making sure they all have their own folders and like you I also have a lot of stuff from simgoober and BSC and CSX set up in a seperate folder with all their uploads!

See I have down loaded a ton of other stuff for another sim game I have called Trainz from Auroran to be exact enough to fill a 30gb hard drive from their comunity and I have learned some stuff from that about how to keep it all seperated. I swear some of the stuff that comes from here must also be from some of the creaters there LOL!
