CTD While Loading City

There's a similar topic on this board but upon reading the posts I think my situation is a little different. I don't know if this can be solved but I figure might as well try before I delete the city and start again.

I've been playing this city for a week with no problems. Tonight, for the first time, it randomly froze. Usually I'll just manually end task and reopen but this time the music didn't freeze, so I waited it out and sure enough, the game unfroze itself. I decided to save and it did, but then suddenly after I clicked "okay" it CTD.

Now everytime I try to open the city, it CTD, usually about 30 seconds into loading. This doesn't happen with my other cities in the region. I cleared all the plugins (both in My Documents and Program Files) but it made no difference. This is a pretty new computer and it's been running SimCity fine so far.

From the region view (and the city loading view), there is this one structure I don't recognize... any idea what it could be? I don't recall ever plopping this into the city.

I also have the newest NAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not enough information.

What version of the game are you running?  To find out use windows explorer to find SimCity 4.exe, and post the version number you get when you hover over the file.

What machine are you running?  CPU, GPU, RAM (size), VM (size).

Version's all updated, and that computer can handle a lot more than little old SC4.  Do you have SimCity set to run on only 1 CPU?  If that's not it, the city file might have gotten corrupted somehow.  Try loading a backup of the city, if you have one.  If not...start making regular backups of your Regions folder.

The option for single processor only is -CPUcount:1, and it goes in like this:

    "C:/Program Files (x86)/Maxis/SimCity 4 Deluxe/Apps/SimCity 4.exe"  -intro:off  -CPUcount:1

The -intro:off turns off the start up movie, if you haven't already.  This is a Linux command line, so you need to read '\' for '/'.

Unfortunately that didn't work. Thankfully I wasn't too far into that city so deleting it isn't too big of a deal. I just hope it doesn't happen again!

    Thanks for all the help.

Don't delete it, obliterate it (CTRL+SHIFT+o).  Saves the terrain.
