Welcome to Pacific city....

Spark_2013-05-27_19-54-15_zps8816ef56.pn

This city is only half the size of my last but somehow has a larger office market. This is the only real area of the city that is developed ( i made the game public which was a mistake because i have areas where people just claimed land and never really developed areas) This city is still in (terms of economic power) is a baby. stay tuned for more developments on the city ( fyi city is on america west 2 server under the name pacific city)

Nice skyline shot. A helpful solution to your problem would be to strategically annex the areas you need as soon as you found your first city. You can always return land to the region if you don't need it, but once somebody claims the spot and then just leaves, there's little you can do to get it back.

Welcome to pacific heights, a suburban coastal section of my city

Spark_2013-05-29_21-17-27_zps34fa27b4.pn                                                                                                                            This small section of the city has 16k people who commute mostly to dt pacific and graysmith ridge.

Two subdivisons in a rural area of the city

    Spark_2013-05-29_21-40-44_zps9975afd1.pn

From this view you can clearly see highway 2, the only freeway that links dt pacific to the rest of the region

    Spark_2013-05-29_22-00-31_zps1cb5b560.pn

A region wide population boom has caused my skyline to boom there is no vacancy anywhere within dt limits or in the heights. Everyone here has a job but that's not enough. To stabilize the citys economy I will need another 70k people in dt or commuting into dt....I don't know how a achieve this but.... dt also has budget issues so I cant attempt anything just yet....

Thanks guys! I have just gotten hold of a new piece of land from someone abandoned the area. Here is my next post!

Pacific heights had a firestorm just as I loged into the city

    Spark_2013-06-03_19-20-28_zps4a062589.pn

The morning commute home on highway 2 was interrupted by the blazes. Traffic was a mess but there are other ways to get into and from Downtown Pacific...

A lucky sub division has a train station only seconds away in walking distance. The station was much more crowded today than ever before

So in the end the blood that makes this city go round managed to rest for bit!

The train shot is the best of these IMO. Gives you the feeling of rushing into a megalopolis at lightning speed.

Its that time again! Now I will introduce a new area of the city! (once abandoned)

Welcome to Osha a mixed use redevelopment!

    Spark_2013-06-07_23-41-51_zps164aa805.pn

This small suburban section of the city has a 12k population. It was once a massive industrial center but pollution and debt caught up with the area. The area is now mixed use with restored forest and green areas. A small separate town lies in oshas cliffs, The town provides oshas power and holds a light industrial park. Osha carries on the legacy of pacific citys massive waterfront with a flurry of residential towers planned along its beaches. The area plan also calls for many transit oriented developments around its small commercial district. Commuters would have options such as bus and train to downtown pacific. But at the same time this area is 38 miles outside downtown, could there be a chance for its own commercial growth?

Major news headlines from simnations fast growing coastal paradise.

                                                      Spark_2013-06-09_20-07-45_zps39f1d962.pn

Osha has broke free of downtown pacifics commuter hold. It now has the third largest financial district within city limits. Although the area still has a number of residents

who commute to downtown they are mostly centralized in the areas waterfront and doltons transit villiage.

The town of Dolton recently merged with pacific city and is now been labeled the Dolton district.

                                                                         Spark_2013-06-09_20-01-16_zpsf892d920.pn

This is the  growing Dolton transit village, this is doltons most urban area. The transit village formed around a train station leading into downtown pacific.

The Dolton districts industrialized downtown has gotten much cleaner since the early years of osha and now hosts the largest education district in pacific city.

The biggest headlines are coming up next!

                                                                                                                                               Osha joins the condo club

                                                                          Spark_2013-06-09_19-52-56_zps657fe6f8.pn

Osha has the hottest waterfront condo market of any of the pacific city districts. The district has had more than 12 condo towers built in the last year.

                                                                                                                                                           In downtown pacific....

Spark_2013-06-10_18-23-24_zpsf45c3db9.pn                                                                                      Skid and assoicates investments have announced the purchase of 5 propertys along downtowns waterfront. The propertys were part of downtowns recently

                                                                         disbanded historical district.

The buildings have been torn down, 2 new malls and 3 new condo towers are under construction on the old sites. The plan is to bring more traffic to waterside

avenue and eventually creating another high density commercial district.

And now for the biggest announcement

The Callahan canyon has been in habited by a small town called new brakston.

                                                                         Spark_2013-06-10_19-00-55_zps2a263d10.pn

The town has plans to merge with pacific city. The merger would give town a chance to form its own economy and to not become a street car suburb of pacific city.

I remember when I saw the first tower rise, I never thought this town had a chance. I lived in downtown pacific but rents for those of us lower class are horrid. For ten days I lived in my car hoping that work would find me some how. What I didn't know was that I was one of the last low income residents in pacific city. There were no jobs for me because the citys employers were not looking for a low income workers. Most employers were not even looking for middle class workers! Anyway as the story goes I was sitting on the street just about to give up hope when two of downtowns upper crustmen walked past me. They were having the most interesting conversation about a city called New Brakston. One was rambling on about how the city should have merged with pacific city and how it is now a low class crime filled wasteland. The other man argued that the city was a investers dreamland because land was so cheap. Cheap... that's the only word I needed to hear, after six days of breakdowns and headaches later I found myself with a job flipping burger outside the pacific city international airport ( The city made a deal with new brakston to build a international airport because of land prices and density issues)

Soon enough I found a affordable residence it was not much to look at but it was home.

    Spark_2013-06-18_22-20-45_zps4525b563.pn

One day I heard the citys first middle class townhome was about to be completed. I had been saving for sometime and I had enough money to move...so I did. But the night I fell asleep in my new home is the night the citys economy woke up....

I only moved 3 blocks down the street but the living conditions were so much better. But my bills were starting to mount so I started going to community college at night.

I would love to get a nice middle class job so these bills wouldn't be such a pain. As my live was changing for the better so was the citys.

6 months ago the city got 4 casinos to move in town and ever since the city has been growing rapidly. We even have a stadium in the airport financial center.

    Spark_2013-06-18_15-18-16_zpsdac9a5c8.pn

This is how downtown looked when I moved here but boy does the skyline look different now!

    Spark_2013-07-03_18-54-00_zps56411502.pn

Many new office buildings have taken shape in downtown and condo towers how poped up along the waterfront but downtown is the only section of the city to change.

    Spark_2013-07-03_18-53-00_zps6951c870.pn

My old workplace was torn down and moved inside a much larger hotel on brakeston avenue. The area is now the most congested section of the city due to gambling,

workplace commuting in the area and also commute traffic to downtown brakeston moves through the district making it completely stop.

    Spark_2013-07-03_18-52-17_zpsdd8a761b.pn

This the headache I go through everyday to go home. Its safe to say that the city has taken a turn for the better crime is down citizens are prospering but sadly

the city gambling economy was easily bested by downtown pacific. We are even seeing some of our citys residence going to downtown pacific to gamble.

At the moment the city just doesn't have the investors to compete with theirs so we are falling behind. I think its time I paid another visit to  pacific city....

                                                                                                                                         Major news from Pacific city!

    Spark_2013-07-05_19-25-44_zps79d8c37a.pn

After years of neglect the citys last two underdeveloped areas are seeing construction. Mount Washington will become a semi suburban area with a small urban core consisting of small gambling halls and midsize office towers

    Spark_2013-07-05_19-20-13_zpsf0c32b8e.pn

Mount Washington area plan phase 1 this consist of mostly middle class housing that is within commutable distance from downtown

    Spark_2013-07-05_20-09-08_zps81802ed8.pn

Phase 2 is the Washington estates development a low density upper crust transit oriented neighborhood centered around a train station for quick commute

    Spark_2013-07-11_14-14-12_zps66d3a4b9.pn

Phase three is the urban core which is giving the area the title of secret city because of the fact that the urban center is hidden by mount Washington.

    Spark_2013-07-06_14-08-04_zps2b0bc2d5.pn

Keep a look out for the next blog which will cover The amazing tail of a pacific city area where the lack of centralized zoning has made the area the second biggest job

    market within city limits.
