I'm currently using NAM 31 and the traffic quarry inside, but for some reason the route of buses and cars would spike-off to kingdom come like the picture attached in here. It mostly happened near a bus stop on the intersection and only buses and cars routes has this problem Does anyone know why?

There are definitely some pathing problems with the game and they are sometimes exaggerated by the NAM.  I found this to be particularly annoying in early versions of NWM.  However, there is still the good old ramp-jumping problem that shows up even now.  There are lots of undocumented features (bugs, by another name) in the game kernel because it was very poorly tested on the rush to market.  I don't know if the NAM team has any further words on this, and I hope it can be fixed someday.

The "Querway to Heaven" problem cannot be fixed, as all of that code is in the executable.  Level-jumping cannot really be fixed either; all we can do is to avoid creating situations where level-jumping is possible.  The only reason you don't get level-jumping when you have roads going under highways (especially in diagonal crossings) is that Maxis specifically special-cased these instances in the executable.  We don't have the luxury of doing that.

I've noticed this happening a lot especially when parts of your network have been recently modified, it should correct itself, however, after a few in-game months and "stick" to the roads.

EDIT: My theory is that the traffic simulator hasn't noticed the new/rebuilt networks yet and just draws a straight line from start to destination.

Oh, don't get me started with the level jumping! Sometimes when I place a bus stop between the highway and a road there's always a strange path that says people just jump off the bus from the elevated highway to the bus stop and walk to work. That is the exact reason why I never place bus stops like that anymore :(

No matter how things are rendered, the game is doggedly 2D.
