No Data Visualisation in Simcity 5

Hi all,

 

I have bought Simcity 5 on Origin on the day of release. I downloaded and installed it and was not confronted with any errors. Once I entered the game I was introduced to the game via the tutorial. In the tutorial I was told to look at the water flowing under the road when I bought it from the other city. I did not see it. I did not see the "agents" for the power either. I could not see any of the data visualizations I have read about and seen on the web. And secondly I do not see the city boundaries in any city I create. Thirdly, I do not see the radius for the coverage of the services, such as medical, police and firefighting services.Lastly I do not see happy faces above Sim houses when I place down parks. I have searched the web for solutions to this problem, but as it seems, I am the only one with it. Help would be great.

 

I have looked at the game file and it is only about 3 GB in size.

And the download in the Simcity opening window went up to 30 - 40% at a steady pace, then seemed to jump to 50 then 70 then done.
