Dr Vu and Maxisman spam

I started in a new region, and although I click 'no thanks' every time, I'm constantly (every 5 to 10 minutes real/non-game time) being asked to 'go evil' or go for maxis manor. First the town hall, then a factory, then the police station, then another factory!!!

This didn't happen in my first region; it's really getting on my nerves. Is there anyway to turn this off that I've missed, or perhaps is it possible to download the cheaper version from Origin?

I know I can turn off speech bubbles, but that's the nuclear option for me.

Turn off bubbles or just don't click on the bubble icon in game. It is extreme but I just ignore pretty much and just tend to other requests. We all know Maxis Man sucks or is just bugged

Is he supposed to do something aside from cost me money? I get the he's supposed to be a hero, but kind of hero needs paid just to be a hero? I don't recall batman, Spider-Man, or Green Lantern needing a paycheck to save the day...

Maxis Man aids your city in fighting Crime, putting out firies and curing sims.

The more reknown points he builds up, the better he becomes.

Dr. Vu is the quickest way to get your city to Max tech level (if you don't mind the crime).

This is news to me. I've never bothered due to the 'let's build loads of polluting factories...' dialogue of the first approach. Perhaps I will give Vu a go.

    Cheers.

Careful - Vu tower pushes put crims as if there's no tomorrow.

I have found it useful when the "techiness" pump from the university can't reach a factory (like an electronics factory) just plop the Vu building, some extra police patrols, and it will make them all teched-up. Remember, tech level is an agent just like power, water, poop etc. It is not your sims being educated, but tech blobs pushed around the map.

Otherwise both are pointless. Except the music if you zoom in on Maxisman's turbo car (the upgraded one).

Indeed, and where my nickname comes from. I am an academic though, not a carved wooden bookend in the shape of a woodpecker.

I just build the Maxis Manor, that makes that request go away permanently (you don't have to do anything with him if you don't care). Then just accept the Dr Vu request, but never fulfill it, and it will sit in the queue and you can just ignore that.

Or just do what all good mayors do, completely ignore the wishes of your constituents and pretend those speech bubbles don't exist ... or only "listen" the ones that you want to listen to  :D
