This is possible with the use of puzzle pieces but i'm not sure if they can make it display just bikes and have then follow paths but i'm pretty sure they can. This would be a great idea. No textures are needed. All you need is a guy like Goaskin who will make puzzle pieces and ask someone on the STEX who has made a Bike Path Set and ask if their textures can be used.

And one other thing: Please don't advertise your City Journal in the main post. Put it in the signature. Here is abit of code. Place this in your signature.

i hope someone manages to pull this one off, it'll add more realism for the game

Masked_Avenger could you change the size of the pic in your sig please? it's only supposed to be 300x50 pixels to prevent bandwith from being wasted, or something like that, thanx1.gif

Date: 10/27/2005 5:24:29 AM Author: Shadow_Assassin If you want cycleways, try this link: My Eye-Candy Cycleway Kit

Like I explained above, your cycleway textures would be perfect for bike path puzzle pieces. But unless a modder who wants to take this on such as Qurlix, Edcase & Goaskin (I'm pretty sure they all can do paths on puzzle pieces), then this idea is stuck at a traffic light which won't change to green! (Or in other words, going nowhere).

And Masked Avenger, OH MY GOD That is the biggest ever sig pic in SimTrop history! With a picture that big you would get banned! If you still want that picture in your sig, it has to be this size:

    smaller%20baby.jpg
You are not allowed more than 300 pixels in width and more than 50 pixels in height in a signature picture. 422x328 is way too big 29.gif. Even though the original picture was only 9kb, it's just enormous!

Well, now that we have true diagonal streets and GLR in the form of puzzle-pieces, what is to be done with the ANT? I've seen someone's efforts to convert it into an odd-looking Australian road.

Personally, I'd rather have bike paths as the ANT, to allow for true slope traversion and draggability, as well as the change-ability of textures at various wealth levels/zone types.

Sorry - I didn't mean anything against you. It's just that they aren't like roads I see around me. If they're like Australian roads, go ahead! We need more local realism mods in this game. But why don't you replace the regular road network?

You could have the asphalt shoulders appear in rural/undeveloped areas, and the sidewalks appear in developed areas.

That to me sounds like a better use for your textures, since the Sims/freight cannot go from a house or factory onto the ANT, due to technical limitations, and usually on such country roads, houses and farms must face onto them.

EDIT: One advantage of using the ANT for bike paths is that, when you draw it next to a road, the RUL overrides can integrate the bike path into the road and free up one row of tiles.

I only decided to change the ANT texture to rural Australian Highways because I wasn't using the ANT for anything, people can't access the road from properties, the textures were all base textures and didn't rely on wealth level textures and stuff like that and I didn't choose the standard road because the ANT has a higher speed limit than normal roads. It's only real purpose is as rural highways and cheap town / suburb bypasses. It also looks very good with parkland / trees / crops alongside it.

I personally like that road texture, however, you need to make the edges less abrupt.
