I guess that registering my game at simcity.ea.com shouldn't work since it is an Aspyr game, not EA?

I wonder, does the BAT work on OSX? Is it the same download as offered as the ea.com site?

if you contact maxis, they will tell you how you, as a lowly mac user, can access the simcity site (i think you have to fax a copy of the back of the CD case or something)...

all files should work if you place them in the plugins folder. the exe files will not work because they are a windows executable. it would help if you had virtual pc - but... there are places where you can obtain these elusive files. just do a google search for the file in question, and perhaps you can find something... also- do a search in the simtropolis forums.

if you are hoping to edit your own lots, you're out of luck as a mac user. sorry.

On Mac you should use the tool File Juicer...put BAT files there and then into your PlugIn-Folder in your SC4 directory....

GMAX isn't usable with Virtual PC and the buildings on the simcity Website are either very bad or stolen from fansites. It is not worth to register. By the way, all the application and updates are availlable with anonymous FTP access on an EA FTP server.

Hi,

Can you be more specific on what should be done?
This is not clear at all. Thanks.

So far, I've had no problems running both BAT and LOT Editor in my Virtual PC. The programs run fine, although slow, on my G5 2x2.5, running VPC 7 (and XP Pro)
I don't know if the whole GMAX prog works, but the BAT version (of GMAX) does, at least for me.
As far as registration on EA is concerned, I bit the bullet and decided to drop the $30- for SCDeluxe on the PC so I could register and get access to BAT and LOT.
I know a lot of people don't want to do that, but I just added it to my Amazon list and ended up getting it as a gift 2.gif
Just don't actually try to play the game on the VPC... sloooooow!

What I'm working on now is being able to design buildings in my (OSX-based) 3D program, then import the model into BAT to tweak and make the correct type. Stay tuned.
