Passenger Train Stations

Hi, Ive been having loads of fun with the game, but ive run into a bit of an issue i cant seem to resolve.

 

in my first 2 cities in the region i made, my train stations are connected and working propperly, ferrying sims and bringing in tourists. in the next two cities i made, in the same region, on the same set of railway, the train stations aren't working. the game insists they are not plugged into the heavy railroad connecting the regions. ive tried everything so far from plonking the stations on the existing bit of rail, to extending and looping the rail around all over my city and placing various stations, all not connecting. anyone have any ideas what is causing this? and if it can be fixed? thanks

I've done the exact same things as you and no idea how to fix it either...

Some maps have broken rail connections. I don't think there is a way to fix it.

Some cities have NO rail connection also. It doesn't even have their rail coming to the city. But says so when you select the City map of a region. 

 

On the ones that do have connectivity, had no issues. 

 

Btw if you try to get commuters between cities, make sure you do not speed up the game. I found that running all cities at same speed (normal) works on commuting etc.
