Having trouble upgrading electronics hq

I'm having a hard time reaching the upgrade threshold for the electonics hq.  I am stuck at 1,072,000 of the 1.5 million required for the upgrade.  I currently have 1 trade port, 3 trade depots (all with multiple processor storage lots and as many delivery trucks as you can have), and 3 processor factories and I am completely out of space in my city.  Do I just need to make more room for additional trade depots?  Please share your strategies for reching the threshold.

Thanks

Mark

Or as I did...

Buy enough materials from the global market, store it in your city, sell everything in one go... With how the system works right now, no profit  can be gained, since they have disabled the variable of the ever changing global market... Therefor currently it is an easy solution (if you have the money)...

Later on, when the system is enabled again...

Well, if you dont have more building space, you could always just send processors from another city, to your main city, and then sell it to the global market from there...

A global deliver truck will come once an hour for each trade depot you have, so make sure there's easy access from your trade depot to the highway.

Depending on the price of processors (mine's $138k), you'd need to have ~12 trucks come each hour to hit 1.5 million.

Personally, I think it's easier to build the trade HQ to get the trade port than building 12 trade depots; you'll need to save up enough goods to sell them rapidly.

I enjoy the Consumer Electronics factory (though it pollutes massively).  Each CE factory (fully upgrades) generates over a million dollars a day in profit, given the following:

1k processors cost $138k
1k plastic costs $12k
198k per 1k crates of TVs
1 processor + 1 plastic = 2 TVs
~$146k value add over raw materials

Factory costs $3.6k per hour to operate
Produces 9,600 crates of TVs a day (fully loaded)

Basically this, just hold the electronics and then when you're maxed out, sell them. Wont be hard!

Once you have the trade port, TRY your hardest to build it next to the ocean/body of water. You can build a cargo dock and have a ship from and buy your stuff in bulk. I think it buys/sells in up to 30,000 crates/ 300 tons per transaction. You can refill a trade port with imported goods very quickly and get rid of exported good equally as fast since it doesn't depend on how bad your city traffic is.

I got it upgraded and I am now producing tvs.  I set it to send the tvs to the arcology site and left the game running for a little over an hour.  When I came back the site still had no tvs and consumer electronics factory was stopped and full of tvs.  I waited another hour and came back to find the same thing.  What am I doing wrong here?

There's usually a delay with the great works sites. Check your trade layer and take a look at your traffic / trucks to see if anything is jammed up.

    What this guy is saying...

You might have problems with traffic, thereby causing the trucks to be stuck in traffic.

Have you remembered to have the appropriate depot at the trade depot ? Enough trucks?

And lastly, server delay is still quite heavy when it comes to great works...

Wait, so the tvs need to go through the trade port?
