All right, new SimCity, new journal, new music!

I started my first solo region and here's how it's turning out so far.  It consists of two 'cities', East Berwick and South Berwick.

South Berwick:

Here in South Berwick, I opted to open up with a wind power plant to get the ball rolling.  There is raw ore, coal and lots of oil in this region but I started mining the raw ore and coal first to sell on the market and power the coal power plant in my next city respectively.  The Wind Power Farm is off the screen to the right, I couldn't fit it all in the screenshot.  There's a Trade Post and most impoartantlt the Department of Utilities.  I felt it important to get that first because sewage seems to be a problem and I wanted to get that cleared up for all future cites as soon as possible.  Underneath that big forest in the middle of the city is oil, and LOTS of it.  I'm not trading it yet, but I've got big plans for it in the future.  I built the metals HQ here but plan to switch over to the Petroleum HQ as soon as I get a chance.  The cities income/hour is deceiving at +157 as I get pretty good revenue from trading the coal and ore which nets me a nice profit.

East Berwick:

In the second city, East Berwick, I decided since so much room was going to be used up mining in the last city I needed a place to outsource some workers and have a large patch of land for plenty of factories.  Easier said than done.  There's nothing underground in this city except lots of water.  So I plan to make this my little water capital.  But wait.  I learned that to get workers from one city to another I needed a Department of Transportation to either use the bus depots or trains.  I opted for buses but it was more work than I anticipated.  I had to get a Bus Terminal to service the region and I'm still not sure if it's drawing workers from the other city for the factories.  Oh well, we'll see.  It better be.  I also got a little greative with the road tool and tried to make a nice neighborhood for the factory managers and what not.  I suppose I will need an Education city next to train them to run the factories.

So far off to a good start.  Making plenty of money, conserving land space and getting everything I need without rushing it or overspending.

Yeah, it's fun, but the maps really should be bigger.  That's it for today.

Oh yeah, I promised new music...  Here's a song from my band called "Crippled Eden", enjoy:  http://soundcloud.com/endureth/crippled-eden-bass-raw

These cities probably have a larger population than the actual Berwick where I live (and we do have North, South and East segregation).
