I can't help but smile and laugh as the devs get their karma, I started to wonder when the last time I was this happy about a piece of gaming news, and it occured to me, the last time I was this happy about a game was when I heard that they were making a new simcity.... Anyone else got that feel?

it's not the devs so much as the publishers.

Behind shockingly bad implementation of online services, there appears to be a great game.

Don't blame maxis for this. Blame EA.

I almost did a cartwheel when I heard they were coming out with this.

As such a long-time fan/player of this franchise, it really is about the only game that would warrant such a reaction.

(OK, so maybe if they ever actually announce Half-Life 3)

This game is really fun though, despite the monumental downfalls compared to SC4.

I'm of the 'Game is no good regardless of online' variety of critic. I, up untill this point was indifferent, and occasionally defensive of always online., it was something that never bothered me.  My problem is with the gameplay and loss of features and freedoms from previous iterations for the sake of multiplayer, probable microtransactions, leaderboards, accessability and frivilous, micro focused simulation.  I don't care how they get their karma, but i'm happy they are getting it.

It's sad to see yet another SC failure, even if it was anticipated. On the other hand I'm now even more looking forward for the soontocome Cities in Motion 2. Seems to me like smaller developers with equally small distributors are more successful in creating the games they and the players desires, without distributor's interference...

RIght! This is SimCity, not Build-a-City expansion pack for the Sims 3. If we have 200k people, do we really want to see all of them? Yes, # 123,456 , I really care about the fact that you are unemployed. Now get back to work!

From the day they announced that simcity 2013's engine would be agent based I knew it'd fail this bad. So yes, not a big shock for me, just massive disappointment as it has been of late with city building games.
