Barely any School Usage

Well, I have a bunch of schools and colleges, but it is barely even being used. The highest attendance was only over 100 students and my lowest is 2. I have no clue why there is such a low attendance rate. Either that or my city is so smart that no one really needs school.

First you must check your resident average age. Putting bunch of schools or college will not increase the possibilty of being used. Once your resident getting older they will need library instead of schools or college. Older resident will not go back to school anymore now will they.

They're too old for school. Building some apartments will usually straighten that out.

First off did you put schools on as soon as you built you city? It takes time for little sims to become big sims. Do you don't need high schools and colleges right off the bat. I do usually start off with a library and museum to make the older sims happy. Also how many schools to you have? Too many overlapping wont bring in a bunch of little sims. Try starting off with one or at the most two if you put them on either side of your town of the elementary schools. Then in about 8-10 sim years build a high school and finally a few yrs later built a college.

Also much like real life the pop of schools vary as little sims grow to young mature sims the school usage decreases but then as new sim families move in the school pop increases. And finally I always 'sign' the pro reading ordanance in my cities.

The clue in the game is the population by age display.  Green is for schools, blue is for libraries and museums.
